Reproductive Counseling

If you are struggling to become pregnant and feeling overwhelmed I help you manage the feelings of disappointment and grief that come up each month.

Individuals and couples struggling with infertility and those building their family through donors and surrogates may experience feelings of grief, resentment, overwhelm, and isolation. For those coping with infertility, each month can feel like a rollercoaster of hope and loss. In therapy I support you as we process your feelings of loss and manage the stress and uncertainties associated with using medical interventions and/or third party assistance to create your family.

If you are making decisions about how to build your family I help you sort through the many emotional, interpersonal, legal, and ethical considerations.

I also help heterosexual and LGBTQ couples and individuals make important choices about how you will build your families. The methods you choose to build your family – Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), ovum donor, sperm donor, gestational carrier, or adoption – each have unique benefits and challenges. Together we will explore your feelings about whether to use third party assistance, whether to use known or unknown donors or gestational carriers, and whether, when and how you would like to disclose your chosen methods to resulting children. In therapy we explore your feelings and concerns about the different options for family building so you can make decisions that are right for you.
